A Rainy Day

I always like a rainy day,
     No matter what the time of year;
The music of the “drippy-drip”
     Just satisfies my hungry ear.
The moaning of the restless wind
Just satisfies my restless mind.

I always like a rainy day,
     To get my feet up good and high;
To just lay off and read and doze,
     And let the wind go wailing by.
I like a rainy day, you bet –
     I cannot work when it is wet.

I always like a rainy day,
     No matter where I hap to be;
If I am sheltered from the storm
     Just leave the comfort all to me!
I like to feel that some poor guy
Is catching it while I am dry.
