Signs of Summer Days

When the bull frogs down in the meadows
Are out sung by the mowng machine,
Then my friends you’ll know it’s summer,
And you cannot until then I ween.
When the freckled boy wants to go swimming,
     Each day, times fully sixteen,
Then you know right well it is summer –
Bless the boy and the mowing machine.
