“What
would you ruther do?” says he
To me one springtime day;
“Of
all the things done in the world
What suits you best, I say?”
I
looked at him an’ then I looked
Out on the shinin’ crick;
I
p’inted with my thumb, an’ he,
Waal he knowed purty quick.
I
didn’t say a word to him,
He knowed jest what I meant;
An’
then we got our poles an’ bait,
An’ other things, an’ went.
