For
all the blessings of the year,
We here give thanks;
And
for the slate that’s clean and clear
We here give thanks.
We’re
thankful for the clothes we wear,
The
health that stands to wear and tear,
And
for the things we do not care
We here give thanks.
Because
‘tis now and we are here,
We here give thanks;
Because
the turkey is so near
We here give thanks.
We’re
thankful we’re dyspepsia free,
And
thankful for the things we see;
And
for our great capacity
We here give thanks.
Because
we didn’t find the pole
We here give thanks;
Because
we weren’t mining coal
We here give thanks.
We’re
thankful we are far from great,
That
we are not a candidate
For
mayor well, at any rate
We here give thanks.
