Chicken Poetry

Two chickens pullin’ on a worm,
     Braced back an’ tuggin’ hard;
Matched ek’el, nip an’ tuck they go
     All roun’ an’ roun’ the yard.

Ol’ hen looks on to see fair play,
     Ol’ ruster cheers ‘em on;
Five minute, six, still tuggin’ hard,
     Battle no nigher won.

A harder pull, worm breaks in two,
     A bump, a gulp an’ squirm;
Good thing I guess fur both the chicks,
     But hard upon the worm.
