Upon the Road

He took a show upon the road,
And in a lot of towns they showed.
He had of actors eight or ten,
Fine looking girls and handsome men.
They showed in every town of size
And spent a lot to advertise;
Their scenery was grand and new
Their costumes they were stunning, too,
But coin was scarce and crowds were small
And so the show went to the wall,
He took them on the road, alack!
Still on the road, all walking back.
