Don’t
sit in gloom the livelong day,
And wait for sun to shine;
Don’t
emphasize the dullen gray
With dullness and repine.
When
you awake at early morn
When lowering skies you scan,
Resolve
that you won’t feel forlorn,
But be a weather man.
Resolve
that you will make the skies
About you blue and clear;
That
you will cause a paradise
To instantly appear.
No
matter what the weather be
Outside, it is your plan
To
make the sunshine full and free
Inside, you weather man.
For,
after all, the weather’s what
The heart decides, you see;
We
make it cold, we make it hot,
Or stormy, you and me.
It
is for us, each coming day,
To thwart Dame Nature’s plan;
To
keep our hearts attuned and gay,
And be a weather man.
