This
is the very time of year when all the city cousins,
The
aunts and uncles, daughters, sons and nephews by the dozens,
Get
interested in the folks who live way-back from the town
And
write that they are thinking bye and bye of “coming down”.
It’
strange how just this time of year the city people fall
To
thinking of their country friends and write them, one and all
Such
friendly letters, full of love and wishes from the town,
And
incidentally include that they are “coming down”.
I
do not understand it all, why just this time
of year
The
city folks write country folks in terms so very dear.
But
I suppose I’ll soon find out, right from the folks from town,
Because
you see I’ve got some friends who write they’re “coming down”.
