She
stood ready, dressed for cycling,
In her latest costume, sweet;
And
her husband, charmed, enraptured,
Could have worshipped at her feet.
She
was in the act of mounting,
Yet she seemed to hesitate;
Then
she asked, with old-time vigor,
“Are my bloomers on quite straight?”
