Detectors

They’ve invented shoal detectors
     For the ships when nearing shore,
There’re detectors for the ice-bergs,
     And a dozen dangers more.
They’ve detectors and detectors
     Some are good and some are bad;
But there’s one they’ve not perfected
     If they had I would be glad.

I don’t travel, so detectors
     For the ice-bergs won’t help me;
Though detectors of disasters
     Are a blessing, I’ll agree.
What I’d like is a detector,
     One to call my very own,
That will warn me of the fellow
     Who’s about to try a “loan”!

For Tuesday,
  April 8, ‘13

note – I made the rare exception and changed the spelling from ‘detecters’.

side note – The Titanic sank on April 15, 1912.
