A Rag Time Poem

Aguinaldo you’re a flea,
That’s exactly what you be;
When they think they’ve got you square
That’s the time you don’t be there,
     Ain’t it?
You’re a cunning,
Swiftly running,
Shunning, gunning
Little black-eyed cuss;
You’re the fleetest,
And completest,
And the neatest
Little moke who ever raised a fuss.
Aguinaldo you’re a flea,
Just as fleat as you can be.
You can jolly Otis, Ag.g,
Then jump on your army nag,
Open up your saddle bag
Pack your capital therein,
Toot upon your horn of tin,
Then gallop over jungle and plain,
And set your capital up again.
     Now it’s all right
     To run and fight,
     But say,
     Someday
You’re going to get tired of that sort of thing;
And when you do let ‘em get you,
Let the Otisites net you,
And, Aggy, I’ll bet you
You can come over here
And make more dosh in a year
By lecturing than fighting forever (outside of the ring).
