Joseph
Burdakin, of East Cambridge, Died Nov. 7, 1891, aged 78 years and nine months.
The
following lines are written by request.
When restless youth gropes here and
there,
And middle age takes up the care,
Old
age finds rest;
When usefulness of ours is o’er,
And we pine for that better shore,
Release
is best.
When we have ever faithful been,
And lived beloved by other men,
God
says: “Well done”.
When our weak flesh, transformed to
clay,
By loving friends is laid away,
Life
is begun.
