Not Father’s, But Mother’s

When I stroll out with maidens fair,
In soft and stilly weather,
I love to see the darlings’ hats,
     With lofty plume and feather.

But when I’m in the theatre,
     With two or three before,
‘Tis then I wish the vixens had
     The hats their mothers wore.
