I
think the time is coming when
The restaurant will pass.
The
soda fountain of today
Will feed the hungry mass.
Just
think of all that one can buy
And eat it in his fist;
The
bill of fare is wonderful
Upon the soda list.
Hot
chocolate and bullions all,
Beef, chicken, oyster, clam;
Eggs
in most any style to suit,
(They soon will furnish ham).
Boiled
dinners, a la banana split,
And royals all exist;
A
plate of cake with every drink
Upon the soda list.
Why
eat in costly hotels now,
And have a lavish spread?
Why
bother with your meals at home?
Buy drug store fare instead.
‘Twill
save you time, and dollars, too,
And “cooks” will not exist;
Before
you dine elsewhere today
Look on the soda list.
