The God Of Love

I do not fear God –

Why should I, since I do not fear

My earthly father, who is dear

And gentle, and loveth me;

So why fear Him, I cannot see –

     I do not fear God.

     I do not fear God –

The one who is so kind and good,

The father of all fatherhood;

Not changed was I by wrath above,

He won me by his gentle love –

     I do not fear God.
