O
come fair one and let’s play
A
quiet game of croquet;
A wager twill be
For you or for me,
Whoever
shall carry the day.
“And
what shall the wager be?”
O,
certainly, let me see;
If I win at this
I shall have a kiss
From
the girl thus beaten by me.
“If
I lose what shall it be?”
O,
what a sad fate for me!
If by chance I lose
(I cannot refuse)
Why
then you shall have one from me!
