A Presidentess

There is a deal of discontent

     Amongst the politicians;

A week of argument would not

     Explain their hard positions.

They will not vote for William M.,

     They dare not vote for Bryan;

There does not seem to be just now

     A Presidential lion.

And I, myself, am on the fence,

     At least I was till lately;

But now they’ve fixed it up all right,

     And earned my feelings greatly.

The women folks have saved the land,

     God bless the creatures human!

A woman for next President,

     My vote goes for a woman.
