If
dreams were true I’d have a house
Upon the broadest street;
I’d
have a lawn with fountains there,
And miles of orchards sweet.
If
dreams were true I’d have a wife,
The fairest in the land,
With
children four to romp me o’er
And hold my ready hand,
If
dreams were true.
If
dreams were true I’d sail a yacht,
The finest wealth could buy,
O’er
foreign seas to foreign shores
And dwell in luxury.
If
dreams were true – I’ve dreamed all this –
But then, why dreams recall?
If
dreams were true my pledge to you,
I’d never dream at all,
If
dreams were true.
