Man Wants But Little

I do not yearn for polar lore

     Or what they do on Mars,

But how I’ve pondered o’er and o’er

The reason they don’t run more

     Spring Hill and Subway cars?

I do not want the world’s rich store,

     Nor do I seek the stars,

But joy would thrill me to the core

If they’d put on a couple more

     Spring Hill and Subway cars.
