A
fire in the Nutmeg State
Evoked a thrilling sight;
The
folks were taken unawares –
It happened in the night.
The
wife she couldn’t find her skirts
So donned her husband’s pants;
The
husband wrapped as best he could –
It was his only chance.
This
story is of no account
As stories go, and yet
It
sort of proves the woman was
At heart a suffragette.
