“Found Yet Lost”

I’ve watched and waited 20 years
     My ideal face to see;
I’ve dreamed and themed and sketched until
     I know her perfectly.

Today I met her on the street,
     ‘Twas her, my joy, my life;
But – O, ye gods and little perch!
     She was another’s wife!
