Short Poems

Life is double with a wife

When will angels grow from men.

Doubt not your sins will find you out.

Might, to rule, must go with right.

Love begins with him above.

Fame tho’ sweet may sour thy name.

Truth will live if taught in youth.

Kindness should not be met with blindness.

Sense is gained by much expense.

Eyes, some eyes, show paradise.

Wealth hath triumphed over health.

Good is seldom understood.

Power for good is Heaven’s dower.

Faith in Heaven stills earthly wrath.

Sin knocketh long to enter in.

Song and mirth doth life prolong.
