“I Told You So”

I was for Cook, you were against,
     And now my heart is full of woe;
What e’er you do to cause me pain,
     Don’t come and say, “I told you so.”

When e’er we meet I’ll make it right,
     You’ll taste the best that experts know;
But please don’t speak the doctor’s name,
     And do not say, “I told you so.”
