Inscription to Nixon Waterman

Dear Nixon Waterman, I send
     My little book to you.
I hope its colors will not make
     You feel red white and blue.

Of course, I realize full well
     You’ll never read it through;
But then, dear boy, you see you’ll have
     A book that’s always new.
