The
eagle soars above the crest
And
guards the young ones in the nest.
The
mother hen, beneath her wing,
Protects
her chicks from everything.
The
roaring lion and gentle dove
Each
has its share of kindred love.
And
thus we find in beast in bird
Traits
common to the human herd.
And
often find we, to our shame,
Beastly
mind in human frame.
