Come
February, we wait for you,
Of all the months severest;
With
your winds so wild, and your snow-drifts piled
By your fitful moods the queerest.
We
welcome you for the joys you bring,
E’en though you are fierce and frantic,
For
to hearts that beat to a rhythm sweet
You are at least romantic.
For
with you comes Valentine Girl,
A dainty and pensive creature;
With
a posture fine, and a face divine,
With grace in her every feature.
Come
February, we wait for you,
Tho’ your wintry revels sting us;
Though
you’re bleak and chill we welcome you still
For the measureless joy you bring us.
