The Forest Blue Book

The owl sat on the big oak tree
As proud as any one could be.
A crow came from an upper limb
And sat just out of reach of him.
The crow was ugly, showed its claws,
And said he was the boss be-caws
The owl he couldn’t see by day
And was a coward, anyway.
“Hoot,” said the wise old bird, mad clear through,
“Come round tonight and see hoo’s hoo!”
