Mark Twain is a pirate, so some
people say,
A bold buccaneer of this Christianized
day;
He rode the high seas and he
robbed, we are told,
From the good ship Will Shakespeare
a chapter of gold.
And unlike Captain Kidd, who sought
far away nooks,
He buried his treasure in one of his
books;
And now the press agent, and
publisher too,
Will share in the treasure – O what
a smart crew!
