Your Bait

If you’re going out to fish

     Where idle waters wait,

In your anticipated joy,

     Do not forget your bait.

It matters not how nice your rod,

     Or reel of silver plate,

You cannot coax the fish to bite

     If you have got no bait.

If you are working out a scheme

     In stocks or real estate

Don’t think that you can coax your fish

     Without the proper bait.

Life is a fishing game right through,

     You’ll sit and sit and wait

     For fame, success and wealth unless

     You’re well supplied with bait.
