A Departing Message

         

I have a message here on earth

      For every soul to read;

‘Tis nothing new, but I pray you,

      Beloved brother, heed.

It is the old and truthful word,

      Since e’er the world began.

It has been taught, oh! blessed thought:

      “Love God and fellow man.”

Love God and fellow man, ah, yes,

      It is the only way;

And think not future time will do,

      Begin, dear one, today.
