From Beach To Stage

Chill autumn winds have come again,
     The bathing season’s o’er;
The gazing young man now has turned
     Him sadly from the shore.
Nantasket nor Revere holds out
     One charm for such as he;
The only joy he now can find
     Is stage variety.

Nantasket and Revere are both beaches near Boston, Revere being the oldest public beach in the U.S., being established as such in 1895.
