William Hopkins



I want to write a loving word
     In memory of him;
But now, just now my sight is blurred,
     My eyes with tears are dim.

Enough! My pen once free to flow
     Falls from my trembling hand;
But in God’s kingdom he will know,
     And he will understand.

William Hopkins, an editor at the Boston Daily Globe, died on Sept. 24, 1902. He lived in Newton, Mass.
