ON THE ROAD
A southern conductor was
considerably nettled over the complaints of a northern salesman at the slowness
of his train. Finally, in desperation, the conductor said: “If you don’t like
our speed sir, why don’t you get out and walk?”
“I would like to,” retorted the
drummer, “but I’d have to wait so deuced long for my baggage!”
