The Old and the New

In days of old when men were bold
      And womankind were quiet,
The world ne’er saw a great hurraw,
      And never had a riot.
But now, alas! It’s come to pass,
      Mankind is gold no longer;
He’s down and out, gave up the spout,
      The suffragette is stronger.
