To H. J. C.

Great is our grief
O gallant chief,
Police chief and “Rough Rider”;
     You’ve placed the ban
     O cruel man,
On sweet and harmless cider.
     Take cigarettes
     And chocolates
And cast them further, wider;
     But Henry J.,
     Allow us pray
To buy a little cider.
