An All Nighter



She yawned, she hinted, went to sleep,
     And still he did not go;
He shrank from entering the night,
     Because he loved her so.
He heard a noise, the back porch creaked,
     “Burglars,” he gasped; but she
Awoke and said, “the milkman’s step,
     Is quite well=known to me.”
