In Different Clothes

“I ‘clare to goodness, Mrs. Jones,”

Said Mrs. Smith in earnest tones;

“It beats all how these paper folks

Git up so many from new jokes.”

Then Mrs. Jones shook her wise head;

“They hain’t new ones, at all,” she said.

“They’re like we had an age ago,

But dressed in modern style, you know.”
