(Written
for the opening Sunday of the Second Baptist Church E. Cambridge)
O,
thou most high one, from thy throne,
Look down upon us here today,
And
take what truly is thine own,
And use in thine own wondrous way.
Thou
hast permitted us to build
This place in which to worship thee,
And
now, O, God, our hearts are filled
With gratitude and unity.
We
feel that thou was hovering near,
And with thy great and wondrous mind
Wert
guiding all our labors here,
To bring salvation to mankind.
And
now our doors are open wide,
To stranger, sinner and outcast.
We
yearn to bring them all inside,
Where God, and peace are found at
last.
