Mary
had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow;
And
everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go.
It
went with her to school one day,
Which was against the rule;
It
made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.
And
so the teachers took it out,
But still it lingered near,
And
waited patiently about
‘Till Mary did appear.
Then
Mary went and laid her head to
her and laid
upon the
teacher’s arm; Her head upon her
And
promised faithfully to keep
The lamb away from harm.
And
where did Mary put that lamb
Back home and there padlock it?
O,
no, she took the little toy thing
And put it in her pocket.
